Getting Started
If you haven't installed Desktop Call Recorder yet, start with the installation guide. Once installed, the app runs in the system tray and begins recording calls automatically on all supported platforms.
General Settings

Recording Path
Specifies the folder where all call recordings are saved.
Default: %APPDATA%\Desktop call recorder\Recordings
Auto Recording
Automatically starts recording when a call is detected on a supported platform. No manual intervention needed — the app monitors for active calls in the background.
Web Browser Recording
Enables recording for browser-based platforms: Google Meet, Microsoft Teams (web), and other web call apps.
Auto Launch
Launches Desktop Call Recorder automatically when Windows starts, so you're always ready to record.
Start Minimized
Opens minimized to the system tray on launch — no main window shown. The app runs silently until you open it.
Hide Splash Screen
Skips the logo screen at launch for faster startup.
Stealth Mode
Stealth Mode requires an active Pro subscription. Upgrade to Pro →
Runs completely hidden — no windows, no notifications, no system tray icons. The app records calls invisibly in the background.

Mode
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Stereo (default) | Your voice in the left channel, the other person in the right channel. Allows speaker isolation and independent volume balance in any media player. |
| Mono | Both sides mixed into a single channel. Simpler, but no speaker separation. |
Echo Cancellation
Automatically removes echo and feedback when recording through built-in speakers or an open-air microphone. Particularly useful when a headset isn't available.
Microphone Audio Gain
Boosts input levels for consistent volume across recordings. Helpful with quiet microphones or when speakers are far from the mic.
Notification Settings
Start of Recording Alert
Displays a notification when recording begins, so you always know when a call is being captured.
End of Recording Alert
Displays a notification when recording completes. Typically includes quick access to playback and file management options.
File Naming Settings
Add Call Information to Filename
When enabled, includes call metadata in the filename: the app name, your username, and the contact name (if available from the platform).
